Yael is 28 years old and lives in Tel Aviv, Israel. She is currently working in the Budget Department of the Ministry of Finance (MOF) – the most influential section of the Israeli government, which is responsible for determining the government's economic policy and propelling national structural reforms. Yael is in charge of the whole budget of public transportation in Israel, about 20 billion shekels a year. This is the fulfillment of her goal to combine her passion for social values, Environment and Economics, in an effective and impactful way.
Prior to this, Yael worked as a Project Manager under Prof. Dan Ariely, a worldwide Behavioral Economics expert, in Kayma Company. Kayma provides research and consulting services to the MOF and other governmental and private bodies.
Yael also worked as a correspondent for the leading economics program on Israel’s main TV channel for 6 years. She was a regular participant at conferences, events, and TV programs, both as a speaker and as a panel facilitator.
During her army service, Yael served as a correspondent at the news department of the IDF radio station, Galatz, and anchor of the Economics section. She covered the Education, Sustainability and Infrastructure fields and was a news editor.
Yael holds a B.A. in Economics and Psychology from Tel Aviv University, and an accelerated M.A. for outstanding students in Economics, run jointly by Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She wrote her thesis on how to increase women's inclination to STEM and Hi-Tech professions. While doing her M.A she was also a teaching assistant at the Kellogg-Recanati International Executive MBA Program at Tel Aviv University. As a student at the University, Yael used to volunteer with Holocaust survivors through International Hillel Organization.
