Yoav Hershkovtiz was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel, currently a medical intern in Hadassah medical center and head of media and communication in 'Hitorerut'.
Yoav started medical school after working with Jewish American youth at JAFI and AVI-CHI Shlichim programs, as a Shaliach and as part of the Shlichim training staff. Medical school was not a childhood dream but rather the best option to combine, an opportunity to help other people, and a professional challenge with a new world of knowledge.
During med school Yoav was head of community affairs in 'Hitorerut', an independent social- political movement of young Jerusalemites, that stands for activism, leading by initiative and taking responsibility by the young generation of Jerusalem, afterward worked as a consultant to hitorerut city council members and part of the exacutive board, setting the movement long time strategy.
For the past year untill this day, Yoav is the head of media and communication in 'Hitorerut' including the campaign of mayoral candidate Ofer Berkovitch, a unique campaign, in its positive approach, a unifying massage that all people of Jerusalem must live together in order to keep it- Jerusalem. A year that was a fascinating journey into the heart and sole of Jerusalem, bringing together 'Haredi', Dati, Massorati, and secular, left and right, young and old jerusalemites together for a common cause, and a true honor for to be the voice of this magical campaign in the social and formal media.
