At Birthright Israel’s 25th anniversary gala in New York City, more than 1,000 alumni, Jewish communal leaders and funders came together to celebrate 25 years of Birthright and honor those who shaped the organization since its earliest days. Our own Lynn Schusterman, Co-founder and Chair Emerita of Schusterman Family Philanthropies, was recognized for  supporting Birthright since the beginning and for being a champion of engaging young Jews in meaningful Jewish experiences.  Since its founding, Birthright has enabled more than 900,000 young adults from 70 countries to explore and learn about Israel and to connect with each other, with their Jewish identity and with the global Jewish community

At the gala, Lynn reflected on the importance of Birthright’s work, the inspiration she drew from her late husband Charles Schusterman and how that vision continues through Birthright’s alumni:

“Each of you in this room has the power and the responsibility to decide how the story of Israel and the Jewish people unfolds.”

We are proud of the work Birthright and many organizations are doing to empower young people to lead the next generation toward a more vibrant Jewish future.
