These 12 districts unlocked exceptional learning gains for their students. Here is how they did it.

All Systems Go, an initiative of the Center for Public Research and Leadership (CPRL) at Columbia University, examines more than a dozen school districts that improved student outcomes after adopting shared, high-quality instructional materials, sustained professional learning for teachers and system-wide changes.

What they have found is that strong instructional materials matter, but are not enough on their own. In these districts, coherent curricula, paired with implementation and teacher support, increased confidence and strengthened district capacity to deliver grade-level instruction at scale.

From New York City’s District 7 to Guilford County Schools in North Carolina and Richmond Public Schools in Virginia, the case studies tell the story of how districts achieved success and how their approaches can be adopted to improve outcomes for students and schools nationwide.

Explore how districts reached higher, together.
