As Assistant General Counsel, Mike offers legal support to Schusterman’s grantmaking teams and operating programs, as well as provides guidance on internal institutional matters relating to non-profit governance, general policies and procedures, and employment-related issues. Mike also assists in external relationships as requested from institutional stakeholders. 

Prior to joining Schusterman Family Philanthropies, Mike served as the Legal Director for the ACLU of Oklahoma. Previously, he was in private practice focusing on management representation in employment matters, civil litigation and non-profit governance.  

Mike has served on the Boards of Directors for Oklahomans for Equality, the Tulsa Area United Way and the ACLU of Oklahoma. Mike graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and attended the University of Oklahoma and Arizona State University, where he majored in economics and statistics. Mike loves anything to do with the outdoors, whether it is at the beach, the mountains or the western desert.
