As part of the Welfare and Social Affairs team, Astar works on strategies to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect and to promote child and family safety. She is a strong believer in the value of technological tools, research and data-based operations for creating meaningful social change.

Astar has extensive experience in working with third-sector organizations in various areas. Before joining Schusterman Family Philanthropies – Israel, she was an R&D Manager at Aluma, where she conducted studies and developed strategy on social mobility for youths. Before that, she held a range of positions at the Rashi Foundation, including as Social Innovation Manager focused on research and development of data-based tools and decision-making insights.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Master’s degree from the University of Bonn in Germany.
