Aviva Jacobs is a Vice President with Teach For America, responsible for recruiting the best and most diverse talent for the fight for educational equity. As the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, advocating for equity and justice is in Aviva's blood. Aviva brings a love for learning, forming relationships, and a commitment to rigorous discussion. Prior to her current position, Aviva worked as a senior policy adviser in Washington D.C, working to improve the roles of state and local leaders in fighting for innovation in educational equity. Before that, she led the TFA-Chicago region to the highest student achievement results for three straight years (for over 50,000 students). Aviva graduated from the University of Michigan (B.A. 2003) where she also played on the Women's Varsity Soccer Team, and from Harvard School of Education (M.Ed. 2007). She lives in her hometown of DC and still enjoys playing soccer.
