Small Grants. Big Impact.

ROI Micro Grants are designed to give members access to personal opportunities that enhance their social change efforts and would otherwise be outside of their reach. These grants are awarded for opportunities in three categories: Professional Development, Organizational Capacity Building, and Jewish Journey. See the FAQs  for some examples.

Read on for an overview of this opportunity, as well as the application process.

ROI members: To apply for an ROI Micro Grant, you will need to log in to the Community Platform.

Reminder: Micro Grants for a given year must be used for activities in that same calendar year. In other words, 2023 Micro Grants must be put towards activities that will be completed by December 31, 2023. 2024 activities will be counted towards 2024 Micro Grants.

The Basics

In all cases, ROIers must demonstrate that the opportunity advances their efforts to create positive social change or provide leadership in their community.

ROI members are eligible to apply for up to $2,000 in ROI Micro Grants per calendar year.* Members may be granted a maximum of up to 3 Micro Grants per year, provided that no single grant exceeds $1,000. The minimum grant request is $250.

Applications MUST be submitted at least 10 business days in advance of the opportunity in question. If a member applies with fewer than 10 business days until their scheduled opportunity, their application will be rejected automatically.

Notes on Funding:

  • There are certain expenses that ROI Micro Grants cannot cover, which are described in our FAQs.
  • ROI Micro Grants are paid in the form of reimbursement, after the opportunity has taken place and upon the submission and approval of the ROI Micro Grant final report.
  • Micro Grants for a given year must be used for activities in that same calendar year.

* For the duration of the year in which the ROIer became a member, they are eligible for up to $1,000 in ROI Micro Grants. Starting in January of the following year, they will be eligible for up to the full $2,000 opportunity.
