Dina Buchbinder Auron
Dina is a Mexican social entrepreneur who has introduced an innovative, action oriented international education model called Education for Sharing (E4S) to systems that have long struggled with passivity and rigidity. E4S’ mission is to form better global citizens from childhood through the power of play. Through its ludic methodology, E4S empowers teachers from a variety of school settings to foster social and environmental awareness about the UN´s Sustainable Development Goals while teaching values such as empathy, teamwork and fair play. Sports, Science, Arts, Project Management, Finance and Digital Citizenship for Sharing are the six programs under E4S’ umbrella, that create an environment in which children and teachers are empowered as change-makers. Ultimately, children create and develop their own initiatives to solve their community’s most pressing issues. Since its inception in 2007, E4S has worked with over 1 million children, teachers and families with important results in Mexico, the United States, Guatemala, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Panama and Cuba. Dina is a Schusterman Fellow, Edmundo Hillary Fellow, Ashoka Fellow and an emerita member of the BOD of the International Youth Foundation. She is a Vital Voices Lead Fellow, and a WEF Global Shaper. She is a Hubert Humphrey Fellow in Urban Planning at MIT and holds a MPA by the Harvard Kennedy School. Dina loves surfing and ice cream.
