Dream Big. Take Risks. Make it happen.
We have seen firsthand that while investments make change possible, people make change happen.
With this in mind, we launched #MakeItHappen, an ongoing series of micro grants designed to prompt dreamers and doers to seed and grow new ideas that will make a meaningful difference in the world.
#MakeItHappen is inspired by the groundswell of young people we meet every day, all around the world, who are contributing their time and talent to strengthening the Jewish future and who are also drawing on Jewish values as they give back to their communities.
#MakeItHappen is built on three assumptions we believe deeply to be true:
- Young people do care about being Jewish. They want to find ways to engage that speak to and reflect their personal needs and interests.
- Jewish life is not monolithic or static, but rather a rich and constantly growing tapestry of interwoven ideas, identities and experiences.
- The Jewish future, and the contributions of the Jewish people in the future, will be built on the ideas of young Jews in Jewish communities across the globe.
Whether hosting a community Rosh Hashanah celebration in Minsk, organizing a pop-up Kosher restaurant in Philadelphia or bringing relief to Israel during times of conflict, #MakeItHappen micro grant recipients have impressed us with new and innovative ways to galvanize their Jewish communities and invite friends and peers into the fold. Meet past #MakeItHappen micro grant recipients.
We know these young people will continue to dream big, take risks and make it happen. We can’t wait to see what they do next!
